Tide Mark is a series of ten paintings built around a single repeated gesture: a central horizontal mark — textural, material, and deliberate — held within vast mineral fields. The mark is not decorative. It carries structural weight. It is the moment of maximum tension between the immaterial and the material, between breath and mass.
Each work begins with weeks of field-building: successive layers of mineral pigment and acrylic ground on reinforced canvas. The field is the silence that makes the mark possible. The tide mark itself arrives last — a single session with the palette knife, applying dense pigment, chalk, and mineral powder in one irreversible gesture. There is no correction. The mark holds, or the painting starts again.
The series is complete. Ten paintings from the studio in Logroño. Three works have been acquired by private collections. Seven remain available through private inquiry.
